We'll hear about the Dallas Freedom Act, which we're currently volunteering for to get petition signatures to get decriminalization on the ballot for all City of Dallas voters this fall. It has the potential to make a huge difference for our community, and for turnout!

Tristeza Ordex, the Dallas Freedom Act Campaign Manager, with Ground Game Texas will be on hand to speak with the FEDDs. And, we’ll have the petition to sign at the event, so come add your signature!

TX-32 Convention (not a FEDDs event)

Join your funky Dem friends at Texas’s 32nd Congressional District’s inaugural Convention. [This is not a FEDDs event. It's is an important political event FEDDs attend & encourage ALL Dems in Congressional Dist 32 to join us!]

tldr version: Join us in participating in our democracy!! REGISTER HERE TO ATTEND THE TX-32 CONVENTION

But, what’s a party convention?

At the Dem National Convention on TV this summer there will be rousing speeches and our VP & President will be formally elected to be our candidates in the general election in Nov. We only see the speeches on TV, but convention attendees called delegates attend to party business at conventions. At the National Convention, the final party platform is ratified - which lays out our positions on key issues, and our legislative initiatives for the upcoming term.

The process to bubble the platform begins on the ground level with voters at district conventions. ALL registered Dem voters who live are encouraged to attend their convention as a delegate and take part in developing our platform.

At the 2022 Texas Democratic Convention, a significant rule change occurred: our conventions shifted from Senate District Conventions to Congressional District Conventions. So, now Dems in the 23rd Senate District now likely fall within Congressional Districts 30 (Jasmine Crockett), 32 (Collin Allred), and 33 (Marc Veasey). Most East Dallas FEDDs are now TX-32 Con attendees!

The district conventions all happen at the same time across the state, on Sat, March 23rd.

Congressional District 32: Richardson ISD Administration Building

Congressional District 30: Dallas College Cedar Valley Campus, Building N, Room N1051

Congressional District 33 (Dallas County Delegates): Dallas College Northlake Campus

District delegates are also encouraged to attend the Dem State Convention in El Paso in June, where we elect state party leaders & ratify the state platform. More on party conventions here - encyclopedias still exist!

So, please join us in participating in our democracy!! THIS is what democracy looks like!

REGISTER HERE TO ATTEND THE TX-32 CONVENTION as a delegate (free) or become a sponsor of the event.

2024 Congressional District 32 Convention - Sat, Mar 23rd, Check in 9am - RISD Admin Auditorium, 400 S Greenville, Richardson

And, we’ve created this FB event to make it easy to encourage Dem friends to attend. Share far & wide!

FEDDs volunteers: We will volunteer at the event. Contact us to be a FEDDs volunteer.

If you have any questions about the convention program, direct those to Lenna Webb at msnilknarf@gmail.com, or contact Kendall Scudder with convention questions at Kendall@txdemocrats.org. Message Kendall if you are not receiving TX-32/Convention emails or need help joining the TX-32 private FB group here.

* Also, plan to attend the State Dem Convention in El Paso, June 6-8 as a delegate, as well! (there WILL be buses from Dallas!)

Go, Team Democracy! We’re excited to attend the inaugural TX-32 Convention!

Thank you in advance to the entire Convention Committee putting on this huge event.

Click here for MAGA (the good one; not the crazies) recommendations for voting on each proposition.

Have you bought FEDDs raffle tickets yet?! The FEDDs are auctioning off 2 prizes: a pair of tickets and a single ticket. Prices for a raffle ticket are $25/each or 5 tickets for $100. Click here to buy your FEDDs fundraiser raffle tickets, which earn you a chance to win DCDP Jordan Johnson “JJ” Dinner tickets to see Senator Cory Booker and party with all Dallas Dems!! • The area may be less gentrified than much of East Dallas, but it’s safe; the property is secure and we’ll likely have the place mostly to ourselves

  • Note: FEDDs usually meet the first Tuesday of the month. BUT, the first Tuesday in October has officially become “National Night Out” (NNO), which is a great effort to get communities more bonded and familiar with local police. If you haven’t listened to the new episode of Pod Bless Texas yet, check it out! The FEDDs got a nice shout-out from State Representative John Bryant, commending the work we do holding elected officials accountable. We agree that holding every elected official accountable to their constituency is second only to turning out the vote to get candidates with our values elected! It was nice timing of Rep Bryant to highlight our accountability work - we have an announcement coming soon about the 2024 cycle accountability team. If you are, or want to be, a subject matter expert on any of the issues/policies Dems care about, please come to our Props Shindig and sign up to join the effort! Or, email us here.

Please message us to volunteer with the FEDDs or sign up for our mailing list. We're having fun registering voters, precinct organizing, block walking, collaborating with other area groups, and supporting the efforts of DCDP and all our candidates!
