Why support the FEDDs?? We’ve grown into a powerhouse group of organizers, each growing spheres on influence to make a difference in
TURNING TEXAS BLUE.

OUR HISTORY

After the 2016 election, a group of highly women began organizing as the East Dallas Chapter of Pantsuit Nation called, "Together We Will - East Dallas." Our mission, experience, and level of involvement in the "resistance" grew from protests, postcard writing, and phone calls, to voter registration, and the formation of The Funky East Dallas Democrats, also known as The FEDDs.

Since then, we’ve utilized our PUMP strategy to build community, precinct by precinct, into a network of over 6000 volunteers in North Texas, united in action.

FEDDs’ PUMP Strategy: Precinct United Mobilization Plan

To create a network of volunteer activists working together to turn out voters in every precinct, we started with a strategy: the “PUMP” or Precinct United Mobilization Plan. Through personal relationships, also known as “relational organizing,” we build teams of volunteer organizers, precinct by precinct. New members get involved because of the fun, effective activities, and form new friendships. We share training, resources and tools with volunteer organizers and Dem Precinct Chairs to increase voter turnout in their precincts.

It turns out that making friends while making a difference is addictive! By focusing on community building, we’ve made the organization and our work sustainable. And, we’ve each been rewarded with new connections, and a support network making a difference in our members’ lives - and our wider DFW community - during hard times, by coming together to lift the load, and make each of our lives brighter.

OUR PROCESS

We hold fun meetings and events of all sorts - monthly member meetings, regular postcard parties, voter registration drives, and training sessions on the processes and tools that make us successful. In addition to member-wide events, our precinct teams host smaller gatherings - at their homes or neighborhood restaurants, bars, or parks - to watch debates, meet candidates, book clubs, wine & cheese, coffee & bagels – whatever brings us together!

By focusing on bringing our Dem neighbors “out of the closet” and building community, we’ve increased voter turnout by 5-10% per precinct, each of the past 2 election cycles.

We’re a flat, 100% volunteer club. We don’t have dues or bylaws, and we don’t endorse candidates in primaries or municipals, because we want everyone to feel welcome, and to support the candidate they feel best represents them.
